Expression of Interest: Primary Care Advisory Group (PCAG)

Practice Managers, Nurses & Practice Staff - we want your voice

Are you a general practice staff member who is passionate about shaping the future of primary care and influencing how Primary Health Network (PHN) initiatives are designed and delivered?

We are inviting expressions of interest from primary care professionals to join the Primary Care Advisory Group (PCAG).

About Brisbane North Primary Health Network

Brisbane North Primary Health Network’s vision is a community where good health is available for everyone. Brisbane North PHN (the PHN) supports clinicians and communities in Brisbane's northern suburbs, Moreton Bay Regional Council and parts of Somerset Regional Council. It covers approximately 4,100 km2 of urban, regional and rural areas, with a population of over one million people.

We work with local communities, consumers, carers, health professionals, hospitals and community providers to understand our community and their needs. We then engage stakeholders to design and commission programs and services to meet those needs.

Opportunity to Join the Primary Care Advisory Group (PCAG)

We are seeking expressions of interest from primary care professionals working in practice management, nursing and administrative roles to join the Primary Care Advisory Group (PCAG) a new advisory group established to provide practical, role-specific insights to inform PHN projects and initiatives impacting general practice and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) across the region.

About the PCAG

The PCAG is a non-clinical, business and administrative advisory group. It provides a forum for genuine co-design, enabling primary care administrative and nursing workforces to share insights, test ideas and help ensure PHN initiatives are relevant, feasible and responsive to real-world operating environments.

The group will be consulted on matters such as:

  • Improving the design and delivery of PHN projects, initiatives and health system reform activities

  • Navigating operational complexity and risk in general practice

  • Workforce planning, training needs and succession planning

  • Digital system usability from an administrative perspective

  • Continuous quality improvement and change initiatives

  • Pandemic, disaster and recovery planning

  • General Practice Nurses (EN, RN, NP)

  • Medical Practice Assistants
