Brisbane North PHN aims to support COVID 19 immunisation providers in General Practice with a grant opportunity to support COVID-19 immunisation recalls and reminders and increase the skills and knowledge of your practice nurse to independently coordinate and complete vaccine clinics within your practice.
The activities available are:
scholarship opportunities to complete Immunisation Endorsement Pathway (Nurse Immuniser) (RNs) or Immunisation Clinical Pathway (Immunisation Practice) (ENs) with the Benchmarque Group.
COVID vaccine grants of $3000.00 to general practice COVID-19 vaccine providers to support the COVID-19 and National Immunisation Program (NIP) vaccines with reminders, recalls and motivational conversations with vulnerable populations to increase vaccine uptake.
This one-off funding opportunity supports practices to optimise practice processes and procedures related to vaccination recalls and reminders and enhance practice nursing duties.
The purpose of the grant is to:
assist immunisation providers to promote vaccine awareness and administration of a COVID-19 vaccine booster dose, along with other recommended vaccinations
increase vaccine uptake resulting in decreasing the transmission of vaccine preventable illnesses
support the allocation of nurse time to complete recall and reminders activities to improve practice immunisation statistics and to call vulnerable patients to discuss immunisation and COVID antiviral treatment options.
Grant activity and data reporting
The grant activity reminders, recalls and motivational conversations with vulnerable populations and data reporting requirements must take place over an 8-week period. Practices will be asked to work with their 42A report from the Australia Immunisation Register (AIR) and Winter Wellness report from Primary Sense to target patients who are eligible for COVID-19 and other recommended vaccinations via recalls and reminders.
Practices will be asked to submit statistics from their 42A reports and provide a PDSA/overview of the activities carried out targeting COVID-19 vaccination recalls and reminders. Minimum number of recall and reminder activities (SMS, Phone calls, emails, letters and other) will need to equal or exceed 20 per cent of the number of patients showing as overdue on initial 42A report for grant payment at the conclusion of the 8-week activity period.
Scholarship opportunities with The Benchmarque Group will be fully funded. Funding requirements are if the enrolled participant fails to complete the course in full, the participant agrees to pay the full cost of the course if it is not completed. Brisbane North PHN therefore has permission to invoice the participant for the full course fee.
