  • People with Lived Experience (PLE) Participation Chapter: Priority Actions Feedback Due 13th November

    We are seeking your feedback on the draft People with Lived Experience (PLE) Participation Chapter for the Brisbane North Mental Health, Suicide Prevention and Alcohol and Other Drugs Regional Plan.

    Please provide your feedback by reviewing the working document and completing the feedback survey by the 13th of November. You may also wish to view the accompanying attachments and data document.

    Results and feedback will be reviewed at the upcoming Combined Peer Participation Network meeting on the 14th of November.

  • Expressions of interest now open for the My Mental Health Steering Group

    The Brisbane North My Mental Health website aims to assist community members and service providers to navigate the mental health service system by searching according to what their needs are, find information on services, resources, news and events.

    The target audience are

    • consumers and carers
    • community members
    • service providers

    A steering group to oversee the continuous improvement of the site is being established. The first meeting will develop the Terms of Reference, membership, meeting frequency, and roles and expectations of members.

    The steering group is seeking a consumer and carer representative to:

    • offer input into the creation of new content, editing of current content, and improve the ease of navigation of the site
    • be familiar with the consumer and carer section of the website and offer input into how this could be improved or maintained to ensure accurate and up to date information is on the relevant pages
    • be familiar with the use of the events and news sections and contribute ideas, content and sharing of this feature with their own networks
    • contribute and share My Mental Health Facebook page content to others

    The steering group is seeking people with a lived experience with mental health issues who are:

    • familiar with utilising the internet to find local services
    • active on social media
    • has their own networks of others with lived experience they can promote the website and Facebook page through
    • is open to participating in promotional activities to inform others about the website (e.g. mental health expo)

    The first meeting will be Monday 11 September 2017 at the Brisbane North PHN, Lutwyche Office, Time to be advised.

    The successful consumer and carer representatives will be paid for their attendance at meetings, and any other promotional events as requested by the chair. A sitting fee of $40 per hour and reimbursement for travel is provided.

  • Expressions of Interest Open for Consumer Representative Low Intensity Steering Committee

    Brisbane North PHN are currently recruiting a consumer representative to sit on the Steering Committee for Peach Tree Perinatal Wellness lead site low intensity psychological services project. The Steering Committee will guide and oversee the planning, implementation and evaluation of the lead site work.

    ABOUT THE POSITION

    The consumer position would be ideal for someone who has lived experience of perinatal mental health and feels able to constructively apply this personal knowledge and experience in providing input into supporting the functions of the Group.

  • HAVE YOUR SAY - the vision, features and suggested actions to achieve our vision

    A vision for mental health, suicide prevention and alcohol and other drug treatment services in North Brisbane and Moreton Bay is shaping up, thanks to the input of stakeholders like you.

    The vision will form part of the regional plan being developed by Brisbane North PHN together with Metro North Hospital and Health Service.

    With your input, a set of features were developed and actions suggested to move us from where we are now to where we want to be. You now have the opportunity to provide feedback on the features and help further develop and prioritise actions.
