Publication of Greater Choice for At Home Palliative Care Endpoint Evaluation Report
The Department of Health Disability and Ageing have released the Greater Choice for At Home Palliative Care Endpoint Evaluation Report.
This report presents the final findings of a multi-year evaluation undertaken by Scyne Advisory across the Baseline, Midpoint and Endpoint phases (2021–2025), examining program implementation, outcomes, and opportunities for the future.
At a high level, the evaluation finds that:
- the program has been implemented effectively across PHNs, with strong progress in building workforce capability, service coordination and community awareness
- PHN-led activities are contributing to improved access to palliative care in the home and community
- evidence of system-level impact (including population health and equity outcomes) remains emerging, reflecting data and attribution limitations
